Child seat maker Britax is recalling its Chaperone product. The recall is due to a defect that may cause the harness adjuster to detach from the seat shell. Britax will contact customers who purchased the defective seats and will send kits to repair the problem. Britax has said that it will replace any seat in which the harness adjuster has already detached from the shell.
Consumers who possess the defective seat are encouraged to contact Britax or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vehicle safety hotline for further details.
