Giant Food Stores and Martin Food Markets, two regional retail chains located in the northeastern part of the country, have pulled several types of Aunt Jemima's Frozen Pancakes off their shelves due to the fact that he products may have been cross contaminated with soy products, an undeclared allergen.

The affected products all have a recommended use by date between November 1, 2011 through October 16, 2012. The following types of pancakes were pulled off the market:

Aunt Jemima Buttermilk Pancakes, 14.8 oz., UPC 019600058205

Aunt Jemima Confetti Pancakes, 14.8 oz., UPC 019600059554

Aunt Jemima Whole Grain Pancakes, 14.5 oz., UPC 019600060406

The reason these pancakes are dangerous is the fact that they could contain soy. Thus, people with soy allergies could unknowingly consume soy, which could lead to severe illness. If you have a soy allergy and have purchased any of these pancakes do not eat them.
