December 21, 2010, by Jasper Ward

Toyota, already facing hundreds of lawsuits over dangerous cars, recalled 1.66 million more cars today worldwide. The attorneys at Jones Ward PLC represent numerous families who were injured or killed in sudden acceleration events across Kentucky and the United States.

Toyota's initial recall covered more than 8 million cars and trucks worldwide. The most recent recall involves the master cylinder brake seal. In addition to the floor mat and sticky pedal recall announced in January, Toyota recently also recalled 1.3 million Corollas and Matrix vehicles in August for defective engine control modules that could cause the vehicles to stall.

If you or someone you know has been injured in a Toyota due to one of these defects, feel free to call the attorneys at Jones Ward, PLC.

Women Questioning Wellbutrin Side Effects

Drug recall attorneys and patients have focused on drugs like Paxil when holding drug companies accountable for birth defects in babies. However, another anti-depressant that was thought to be safe for pregnant women, Wellbutrin, has come under increasing focus as a potential dangerous drug.

Early studies by the FDA showed that 7 out of 322 newborns were born with heart defects if their mother took Wellbutrin. However, because the sample size was small, further studies are being done. What often happens in these cases, such as Mirapex, is that discovery in lawsuits shows that drug companies knew for years about potential side effects and either ignored or covered up their own studies.
